The Sexy Shrimp can be found in Tropical waters from the Red Sea all the way to the west coast of Africa. The exist in pretty shallow waters no deeper than 25m and will most commonly be found living within anemone however have been found amongst dead corals as well as this offers the tiny shrimp protection from its predators.

The Sexy Shrimp lives up to its name not just in colouration but in their whole being. Their colours are a bright orange with multiple big white spots which have a blue outline. Their body is upturned at the head and tail which causes them to have a very distinct walk as they swing their abdomen forward and backwards. This Shrimp really knows how to get attention by shaking it’s booty.

Anemones are an important source of protection for the shrimp however this is not a one way relationship as the Sexy Shrimp will in return keep the anemones clean and free from debris. They will often share the same hiding spot or anemone with multiple other shrimp and are quite social. The thing about our Sexy Shrimp is they are more like Olympic sprinters rather than runway models and will dart short distances within the blink of an eye.
